You are the nicest, most hard-working, and dedicated boy ever. Truth comes from God, not from your dad or your inner-self. We were born with sinful nature, and that nature will talk us and other people, even the ones we love, down. The only truths that you should listen to is God. God says that we were created in His image (Gen. 1:27) in order to reflect His characteristics, and you are made perfect in Christ (Phil. 3:12). Don’t let your parents’ word bring you down, John.
